The City of Port Wentworth Recreation Department is dedicated to offering residents quality and safe recreational programs and services that lends itself to team building, enriching people’s lives and contributing to the total development of families and the City. These diverse year-round programming, for all ages, focus on overall health and well-being.
There are two outdoor basketball courts with one located on Warren Drive and the other located behind Fire Station #1 on Cantyre Street. Each court has two goals.
The Community Center is located on Appleby Road and is available for rent by any resident of Port Wentworth. The facility will accommodate approximately 100 people and has a fully equipped kitchen with tables and chairs. The cost to rent the Community Center is $150 a day.

The Tommy Thomas Pavilion is located near Fire Station #1 on Cantyre Street. It has picnic tables, grills and electricity. The residents of Port Wentworth are encouraged to use this facility for your next outdoor event.
Houlihan Boat Landing is located off of Ga 25/Ocean Highway near the South Carolina state line. It has a launching boat ramp and a pick up boat ramp along with a floating dock and fishing dock.
Armadale Park
Armadale Park is located in the 100 block of Armadale Road. It offers a one third mile winding paved walking path for your enjoyment of outdoor walking or running with no traffic. There are also two Disc Golf courses.
Della Steele Park
Della Steele Park is located at the entrance to Newport Subdivision off of Highway 30. For your convenience it has two outdoor grills, a covered pavilion and two playgrounds. One playground is for ages 2 to 5 year olds and the other for ages 5-12.
Lewis Mobley Park
The City of Port Wentworth’s sports park complex is called Lewis Mobley Park, which includes a playground, football/soccer field, three baseball diamonds, restrooms and a concession stand. It is located around the 400 block of Armadale Road.
Fields are available on a first come first serve basis when not in use by the Port Wentworth Recreation Department.
Warren Drive Park
Warren Drive Park is located on Warren Drive and offers a playground for children under the age of 12.
The Ed Young Senior Center is located at 103 Turnberry Street, Port Wentworth, Georgia, 31407. Seniors meet Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Lunch is served daily. On Mondays, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., the Seniors play BINGO (there is no charge to play and prizes are given away) and free blood pressure checks are offered from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
The Recreation Department also offers a variety of special events throughout the year including Open Gym Nights, Skate Nights, Summer Sport Camps, Football, Cheerleading, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, & Softball.
