A new parking ordinance will be implemented on April 2, 2024. Vehicles will only be allowed to park on one side of the street. The designated side will switch on the first day of each month.
The new Residential Street Parking Ordinance prohibits parking on some specific neighborhood streets, and allows Odd-Even Parking on other streets.
Parking is prohibited on the major thoroughfares. A list of these roads is in the ordinance as well as available at the Port Wentworth Police Department.
Yes. The City will be installing new signs at all neighborhoods and residential areas informing residents of the new rules.
A parking violation citation could range from $75 to $500, depending on how many previous citations you have been issued. The City may also tow your vehicle if it is deemed a public safety hazard or is a habitual violator.
