Whether you want to get into shape with a knowledgeable instructor, are working through an injury and want to stay active, or just want to learn something new the Port Wentworth Recreation Department offers a few Fitness & Health options for you!

Most fitness classes are $5 per person and some classes are offered for FREE!

Location
Open Gym and Skate Nights are held at the P.B. Edwards, Jr. Gymnasium, 101 Turnberry Street, Port Wentworth, Georgia 31407. Senior Aerobics is held at the Ed. Young Senior Center located at 103 Turnberry Street, Port Wentworth, Georgia 31407.

P.B. Edwards Jr. Gymnasium is located at 101 Turnberry Street, Port Wentworth, Georgia 31407 and can be rented for many occasions. The gymnasium measures 100 ’by 80’ and seats approximately 300. It has a full kitchen/concession stand with pull out bleachers, tables and chairs, as well as a high school regulation basketball court, volleyball court and skates for skate party rentals.

Current Resident:
- Hourly Rate: $65.00 per hour + $50.00 deposit
- Full Day: $500.00 per day + $50.00 deposit
Non-Resident
- Hourly Rate: $85.00 per hour + $100.00 deposit
- Full Day: $680.00 per day + $100.00 deposit
The City of Port Wentworth invites you and your family to join us for Family Skate Nights!
Periodically throughout the year, Friday nights from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., our gym transforms into a roller skating rink for the whole family to enjoy.
5:30PM - 6:30PM - Ages 10 and younger (we recommend bringing smaller children during this time)
6:30PM - 9:00PM - All ages 10 and older (anyone under the age of 10 MUST be accompanied by an adult)

Don’t have skates? No worries! We are stocked with sizes from toddler clip-ons to men’s 13.
Refreshments are also available for purchase at the snack bar located inside the gym.

Walking Club Mondays
Join Us for a Fun-Filled, Goal Focused Walking Club
Walking club will meet every Monday (weather permitting). We will track our steps or laps walked each week and set a goal to achieve by the end of the program.
