Traffic Advisory for Port Wentworth Residents

The City of Port Wentworth announces that beginning Monday, May 12, local traffic will be impacted by the construction of new facilities at Anchor Park.

As work begins on a 5,500-seat outdoor amphitheater and the Ice Cove, a 90,000-square-foot arena serving as a training facility for the Savannah Ghost Pirates, construction traffic will be transporting equipment and materials to the site. The most affected areas will include Hwy 21, Meinhard Road, Hendley Road, and Montieth Road, where congestion is expected through early June.

Residents and commuters are encouraged to plan accordingly and allow extra travel time while construction is underway. City officials appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as these enhancements take shape.

The 150-acre sports and entertainment park will provide significant recreational and economic benefits, including multi-use sports fields, public ice rinks, a farmers’ market, and a recreational gym.
