Port Wentworth Appoints Former Garden City Manager Scott Robider as Police Compliance and Grant Manager

PORT WENTWORTH, GA – March 22, 2024 – The City of Port Wentworth announces the appointment of former Garden City Manager, Scott Robider, as Police Compliance and Grant Manager. Robider will work under the supervision of the Assistant Chief of Police, Rennie M. Walters Sr., and will be responsible for code enforcement process oversight and review, grant writing, and assisting with management of Police Accreditation processes.

Scott Robider resigned from Garden City in February this year where he led the organization in his role of City Manager since 2019. Prior to this he served as Garden City’s Assistant City Manager. He has a strong background in regulatory compliance, code enforcement processes, grant writing and development, as well as the law enforcement accreditation process.

“We are always looking to recruit the highest level of talent, so I am very excited that Scott Robider has decided to bring his skills and experience to our city,” said City Manager Steve Davis. “We are committed to maintaining the highest standards in law enforcement practices and I know that Scott Robider’s reputation, transparency and work ethic will further enhance our high caliber team. I know he will play a crucial role in enhancing our department’s efficiency, effectiveness, and commitment and would like everyone to join me in welcoming Scott Robider to Port Wentworth.”
