PORT WENTWORTH, GA – September 12, 2025 — The City of Port Wentworth, in partnership with the Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce, proudly announces the launch of its new destination brand campaign: “Choose Port Wentworth.” This initiative shines a spotlight on one of the Lowcountry’s best-kept secrets, positioning the city as a place where Southern hospitality, natural beauty, and vibrant growth intersect.
Centered around the call to “Live Here. Experience Here. Thrive Here.”, Choose Port Wentworth highlights the city’s unique blend of small-town charm and forward-looking development, inviting visitors, residents, and businesses alike to discover what makes Port Wentworth a hidden gem.
The campaign is designed to position Port Wentworth as the gateway to the Lowcountry. Perfectly situated just off I-95 and mere minutes from Savannah, Port Wentworth is an ideal hub for travelers eager to explore beyond the expected. The campaign will also highlight the authentic charm and real historic, cultural and community connections of the city. From local dining gems to lively festivals and everyday Southern welcomes, Port Wentworth offers a rich, connected experience full of heart and energy. Lastly, the campaign will show off the cornerstone of the city’s growth, Anchor Park. This park will be completed in 2026 and will feature a vibrant multi-use green space featuring walking trails, an open-air entertainment venue, and amenities designed to bring the community together. It represents a bold investment in quality of life for both locals and visitors.
“This campaign is about putting Port Wentworth on the map in a whole new way,” said City Manager Steve Davis. “We’re excited to invite people to experience our hidden gem in the Lowcountry, right here in our own backyard.”
The collaboration with the Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce reflects a shared commitment to inclusive growth, economic opportunity, and community pride.
